Chief Science Officer’s are the student’s voice in STEM within their school and community. The Dayton Chief Science
Officer (CSO) program is a hands-on leadership program for high school students in 9th-12th grade. The program consists of eight full-day sessions held one day per month (two in October) from October 2023 through May 2024. Each session offers students the opportunity to work with adult leaders in the Dayton STEM community focusing on career exploration, leadership skills, college readiness, professional branding, and STEM outreach.

The CSO program is delivered in partnership with the Dayton Regional STEM Center, Sinclair Community College, and SciTech Institute, and is grant funded through DoD STEM and the Defense STEM Education Consortium (DSEC).
